Paying for Counseling
I currently accept Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS) and Cigna/Evernorth insurance plans. (Please note that I do not accept the Medicare versions of these plans.)
To understand your coverage, call the number on the back of your insurance card. Let them know you want to see an in-network PPO provider, who is an in-office Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). PPO providers have contracts with your insurance company to offer services at reduced rates. When contacting your insurer, you might want to ask:
What is your copay for counseling sessions?
Do you need to meet your deductible before your insurance covers services at the copay rate?
If you prefer an alternative to using insurance, I also accept private pay. If you have an out of network insurance plan, I can provide a superbill (a detailed receipt of services) that you can submit to your insurance provider. Depending on your plan, you may be eligible for partial reimbursement.
